Personality:

Nanako Yui is a very calm and gentle person who is extremely shy. Although she is able to greet others appropriately and converse with them, she finds it extremely difficult to let others actually get to know her. She puts on an out-going personality but she is nearly incapable of letting her feelings loose and getting close to others.

Appearance:


Yui is 5'4" tall and is slender. She has a somewhat weak-looking body, and usually wears a white dress. The top of the above image shows the top of this dress, while the bottom of it trails down to her ankles. She wears (also) white sandals and no socks.

History/Background:

Yui, when very young, fell victim to a Hollow during an attack on her birth village. During the said attack she was severely injured and as a result lost most of her memories, including those of where she was born and who her parents were. She, along with a single other boy, were found by a Shinigami and were taken back to Seireitei for immediate medical treament. Over the course of several months Yui recovered from the wounds, but still lives with a long scar that extends from the inside of her elbow on her right arm all the way down to her wrist.

After recovering from the attack in Seireitei, Yui discovered that the boy that she had been found with had passed away from his wounds. (Yeah, yeah. Call it dramatic all you want. <_<; ) Yui, despite knowing that she shouldn't, feels guilty for the boy's death; it is an odd feeling that has not left her over the whole course of her life. Similar to the unknown reasons as to why she feels guilty, Yui finds it extremely difficult to get close to others, avoiding almost all relationships that go past her military duties and lifestyle.

Despite her inability to be close to others, Yui was able to work very well with them in training and as a result progressed very quickly to become a Shinigami. Her skills at first lied mostly in Kido as for a good portion of her training she was unable to control her Zanpakutou's powers completely and thus, she trained her Kido skills more than anything. Over time as she realized that Kido would never be enough to satisfy her will to be strong, Yui relied on her Zanpakutou and learned how to use it. By doing so, she was able to slowly resonate with the Zanpakutou, learning its name relatively quickly after her Kido training.
